Project Description

6. Why I Love Jesus & You Should Too

Series: A Passion for the Christ
Preacher: Raphael Mukanya
Bible Reading: Luke 18:9-14
Date: 06 October 2024

The sermon, based on Luke 18:9-14, contrasts the Pharisee’s self-righteousness with the humility of the tax collector. The Pharisee, proud of his morality, looks down on others, while the tax collector humbly acknowledges his sin and seeks God’s mercy. Jesus teaches that those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and the humble will be exalted. The key message is that true righteousness comes from a heart of humility before God, not from outward appearances or self-righteousness. It emphasizes that prayer reveals one’s heart and attitude toward God.
