Take me to church is a popular song by Hozier that speaks to some of our deepest longing. The song is more like a church song if one does not pay much attention to the lyrics. The song was written to challenge the Catholic Church on their stance against homosexuality. The writer views sex as the ultimate form of worship where as church is a place where those with contrary views get rejected and shamed.

Does the Church teach shame? Is it a place where those with opposite world views are rejected?
