Looking back on a wonderful day
We celebrated 30 years on Sunday morning. We sang, reflected on fond memories, listened to testimonies, received greetings from around the world and feasted on God’s word through the sermon. It was a wonderful day. Look below to see wonderful photos of the occassion.
The auditorium overflowed with people. The 08h00 and 18h00 congregations came together at 09h30 and we were also joined by Christ Church Nokuphila, our most recent church plant.

The 1st Decade
Our School
David Bell, the Headmaster of Christ Church Preparatory School and College also gave a great interview which you can watch on the video in due course.
We loved hearing from Kathryn Tafirei and Herman Jansen (Pictured below), who were part of the first Grade 0 Class at the school. Michelle Sibanda interviewed them and it was a joy to reflect on the impact the school continues to make in our community.
Christiene Morris, one of the Bursars at the school prayed for the Christ Church Preparatory School and College.
The Photographer
Meet our official photographer for the morning – Mashilo Moabelo from MashKG Photography.
The 2nd and 3rd Decade
The second decade of our church’s existence ran from 2004 to 2014. In our special birthday celebration, we spotlighted ministers who have trained and served at CCM who have also gone on to plant churches or work for para-church organisations around the world. It was wonderful to see old familiar faces. Be sure to catch the video of the day when it is released in the very near future to see these wonderful video messages.
Our children’s ministry led an old song that we used to sing along to a tape recording, and it was great to have some of our former Kids’ Ministry leaders upfront. Be sure to catch the cool children’s talk from Rory Bell in the main video.

The third decade ran from 2014 to 2024. In this slot, we spotlighted two ministries that started in this decade: The Love Trust and Mohau (our counselling centre).
Warrick and Tyrone Gower used their Iron Man participation this year as an opportunity to raise funds for both these ministries.
Martin McGowan gave us a little taste of a Revive Weekend Away games night.

And we ended the morning off with prayers and a sermon on Thanksgiving.

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the morning was topped off by a big surprise!

Keep checking back for the release date of the 30th Birthday Celebration video.
