A New Community.

We are committed to raising a generation of youths that have a strong Biblical foundation for life in Christ. Teaching and preaching of God’s Word and Bible life groups aim to equip young people to live as a redeemed community that is lead by God. Programs include fun activities, praise and worship and networking to allow new friendships to form.

SUNDAYS

DURING LOCK DOWN: We will host a Teens talk every Sunday @10h00 from our Church@Home Lumination Service
09:30 – 11:00
Lumination Sunday is an opportunity for teens to spend time hearing the Word of God – explained and applied to their lives. We have 15 minutes of family time before the sermon to enjoy a beverage and some snacks amongst friends. Each grade is dedicated a table leader to facilitate discussions and help people connect with one another.

Fridays

DURING LOCK DOWN: We will be hosting our Friday night programme from 19:30 – 20:30 every Friday and calling it ‘Zoomination’. Please see ‘Zoomination’ under the events section of this page.

17:30 – 18:30
Chill Zone: This was setup to accommodate teenagers who end after care at 17h30. They can join us for a time of chilling, get some food, some drink and just chat. There’s no planned games, or talks. It’s just a relaxed time for teens.
18:30 – 20:30
Lumination Fridays focuses on building relationships and community around the cross. The program does this by providing time to socialise while enjoying food and snacks, singing to God, playing games and having time to discuss a Bible passage as a group. A combination of fun interaction and thought provoking material around God aims to grow teenagers in the likeness of Christ.

12 July – Lumination Youth Sunday Sermon

Hebrews 2: 5 – 18.

5 Now it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking. 6 It has been testified somewhere,

“What is man, that you are mindful of him,
or the son of man, that you care for him?
7 You made him for a little while lower than the angels;
you have crowned him with glory and honour,
8 putting everything in subjection under his feet.”

More

Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. 9 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honour because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

10 For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. 11 For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, 12 saying,

“I will tell of your name to my brothers;
in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.”

13 And again,

“I will put my trust in him.”

And again,

“Behold, I and the children God has given me.”

14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. 16 For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. 17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Parent of an existing teen?

Please provide yours and your child’s contact details

What will we use the information for?

At Lumination (The name of our Youth Ministry), we are trying to make teens a safe and exciting place filled with many awesome activities. However, communicating with both parents and teens can be a struggle for various reasons. In light of this, we’d like to ask you to provide us with both the contact details of yourself and your child.

By doing this you will help us with:

  1. Safety: If something happens to a teenager, we need to be able to contact parents
  2. Keeping you informed: By being able to text and email both you and your child about what’s going on, we can have greater assurance that key communication will not be lost. I.e. In circumstances where your kid misses a Sunday/Friday where we announce a new event, or your kid forgets to tell you what’s happening.
  3. Having all you need to know in one place: We will be adding these details to a Whatsapp Group that only administrators can message from. This group will contain all the details on events, any indemnity forms, term plans, etc.

The Whatsapp group will be created on a separate phone with its own sim card. This means that if you only want to provide your child’s mobile number and not their name, you can do so. We do however suggest that you give your name and number so that we can contact you should any issue arise.

NB: You don’t need to fill in everything…

The form below is divided into 5 sections: 2 parent or guardian and 3 teenager sections. You only need to fill in 1 parents details and the details of how ever many teenagers you look after. If you feel both you and another parent need to know what is happening with your child, please then use the section for the 2nd parent or guardian as well.

“A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28 – 30

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

If you’re not part of a life group, you should be. Christians are not saved to live alone, we’re saved into a family (Ephesians 1:1 – 14). Why not sign up to a life group?
