Support Groups

The Bible clearly states that “all have sinned”. It is our nature to sin. None of us is untainted. Because of sin, we’ve all hurt ourselves, we’ve all hurt other people, and others have hurt us. This means that each of us needs repentance and recovery from our hurts, hang-ups and habits in the way Christ intended. Our support groups are intended to provide a safe environment for you to find recovery and hope in Christ. All leaders have struggled with similar hurts, hang-ups and habits.
Meeting time and details below.
All are welcome at our support group meetings – participants do not need to be attending Christ Church Midrand or any other church.
DivorceCare
Is a special seminar and support group for people who are separated, divorced, or experiencing the breakup of any serious relationship. It is not a course, so anyone can join the group at any time. Each week is a separate topic.
Each weekly session includes a video seminar featuring top experts on the grieving process, all of whom are Christians. 'Lay' people also tell their stories as part of the videos.
Discussion of the topic of the video in a small group is the other main part of the meeting, during which you can choose to share your story, pain and emotions. There is no pressure for anyone to share, read the Bible or pray out loud.
Some of the topics are: depression, loneliness, anger, new relationships, what the Bible says about divorce and marriage, single sexuality, helping the children, forgiveness and finances.
GriefShare
Is a special seminar and support group for people grieving the death of any loved one. It is not a course, so anyone can join the group at any time. Each week is a separate topic.
Each weekly session includes a video seminar featuring top experts on the grieving process - all of whom are Christians and have experienced loss themselves. 'Lay' people also tell their stories as part of the videos.
