About the Music Ministry
Choir
Participation in the choir is subject to an audition and thereafter is open to singers of all ages. The choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 7 to 9pm.
Chamber Choir
Singers with solo abilities are selected for the Chamber Choir, which rehearses on Monday evenings from 7 to 9pm.
Band
Rhythm-section instrumentalists who wish to be a part of big events rehearse on Monday evenings from 7 to 9pm.
Sunday Teams
We welcome all musicians to participate in our sung worship on Sundays. Rehearsals take place on Sunday mornings at 07h30 and Sunday afternoons at 16h30. Participation is rostered. Lead vocalists are required to sing in the Choir and/or Chamber Choir.
Teen Band
The Teen Band rehearses on Friday afternoons before Reality. To join, contact Steven on (083) 747 5394.
Sound Team
Members of the Sound team are trained to run the sound desk on Sundays and for week night rehearsals and do not need any prior experience. Involvement is rostered and is limited to 2 Sundays a month. The Sound Team arrives at 7am to set up and is usually responsible for all three services on their day of duty.
Data Projector Team
The Data Projector Team is trained on EasyWorship. Involvement is rostered and is limited to 3 services a month. Duties start at 07h45 on a Sunday morning and at 16h30 on a Sunday afternoon. For more information, contact Reuben at the church office: (011) 318 2481.

Do I need to be able to read music to be a part of the team?
No. You are required to be teachable and open to learning to read music.
I would like to lead the sung worship on Sundays. Do I need to join the choir?
Yes. Apart from note-bashing, our choir rehearsals focus on vocal and microphone technique, developing stage presence, working together as a team and developing a Christian attitude towards being a singer.
I only play traditional hymns. Am I welcome in the music team?
Musicians of varied tastes and abilities are welcome in our team but everyone is required to learn all styles of music.
I would like to play on Sundays. Do I need to attend weeknight rehearsals?
No. Rehearsals for services take place on Sundays. Weeknight rehearsals are for special events.
